I found it! For those of us who literally crave standing in the presence of architectural elements from the past - I’ve found the place. It’s not located in the city or staged in a warehouse, but rather off the beaten path on a beautiful country drive. Head south on I-69 in Olathe, KS and right about when you get to 161st Street you’ve made it. A dreamy splash of well-loved acreage, so unassuming you’d almost miss it if it weren’t for the ‘Antiques’ sign by the gravel driveway. I park under a large oak tree and step out to explore the stories that await me. Three separate little abode’s are filled with piece’s that have stood the test of time. I had my favorite, of course - the one where old iron fences and posts kept company with strong wooden pillars & old metal signs. Enter through a blue Dutch door of another little house and find zinc-topped tables whose base of decorative iron was salvaged from New Orleans…would make a killer master bath vanity or entry table. Decorative finials, funky art, vintage corbels, endless mirrors, and my most coveted … chunky, hour-glass shaped wooden balusters … just waiting to house a slab of zinc or reclaimed wood on top and make the most fabulous table! They’re only open on weekends, but Pat & John are such gracious hosts and would gladly make an appointment to see you midweek. This is a gem of a place if you’re looking for a statement piece to incorporate into your dwelling! Enjoy the eye candy! Eclectics - 16101 S. Switzer, Olathe, KS
